Deputy PM Ninh made the statement when receiving Edward Tucker, the Executive Director and Chief Executive of AIA Group Limited in Ha Noi on February 5.

He valued AIA’s operation and its contributions to the country’s social welfare, affirming resolution of the Party and State in restructuring the economy and opening up opportunities for local and international investors.

Tucker expressed his hope that the group will join long-term investment in the country’s infrastructure through buying Government bonds and developing the group’s business here.

AIA can share experience with Viet Nam in implementing and managing development cooperation projects.

Regarding the guest’s concern about effects of the plunging oil price on the country, Deputy PM Ninh affirmed that the effect is slight and the Vietnamese Government has taken response measures to bring the most benefit for the national economy.

In terms of restructuring State-owned enterprises, Deputy PM Ninh said that the move has been carried out in most of enterprises towards improving the effectiveness of their production and trade.
