Hanoi Stock Exchange’s (HNX) HNX-Index shed 0.32 points or 0.61 per cent to 51.78 points. Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange’s (HoSE) VN-Index ended flat at 385.69 points.
Several leading stocks fell back on the northern bourse. Saigon-Hanoi Bank (SHB) lost 2 per cent on HNX with 3.7 million shares sold. Top active real-estate tickers PetroVietnam Construction (PVX), FLC Group (FLC), Vietnam Construction and Import-Export (VCG) lost 1-2 per cent.
Whilst numerous pennies like Education Financial Investment (EFI), Hanoi Investment General Corp. (SHN), Educational Book JSC in Hanoi City (EBS), Song Hong Construction (ICG) turned to red rhythm as investors boosted locking profits.
Some leading sentiment tickers like Kim Long Securities (KLS), Saigon Commercial Real Estate (SCR), PetroVietnam Power Land (PVL) still gained. However, decliners outran advancers 93 to 89 pushing the northern bourse slightly down.
Some 25.2 million shares worth VND155.1 billion ($7.5 million) changed hands on HNX.
On HoSE, stocks ended mixed with selling pressure increased in speculative small-cap and mid-cap tickers.
Some real-estate tickers Ninh Van Bay Real Estate (NVT), Sacom Development and Investment Corp. (SAM), Ocean Group (OGC) and some mineral tickers Binh Thuan Mineral Industry (KSA), Duong Hieu Trading and Mining (DHM), Lao Cai Mineral Exploitation & Processing (LCM) turned head to significantly fell.
Among banking tickers, Vietcombank (VCB) and Vietinbank (CTG) still advanced with slight gains but Military Bank (MBB), Eximbank (EIB) and Sacombank (STB) ended flat. Blue-chips Masan Group (MSN) gained while PetroVietnam Gas (GAS), Vinamilk (VNM) and Bao Viet Holdings (BVH) declining.
Put-through value soared again on HoSE today, reaching VND426 billion ($20.5 million). Matching transaction meanwhile weakened compared with this in yesterday’s session, staying at just VND253.2 billion ($12.2 million).
Just some speculative cheap stocks Ninh Van Bay Real Estate (NVT), Tay Bac Minerals Investment (KTB), Nari Hamico Minerals (KSS), SAM, Petro Capital Infrastructure Investment (PTL), Tan Tao Investment Industry Corp. (ITA) had over 1 million shares matched. Liquidity of other high-liquid stocks strongly fell.
