AIA Vietnam has begun to build a Premier Agency sales force in line with its strategy focusing on quality improvement.

These agents have been trained professionally and are the best and most qualified among AIA Vietnam’s agency sales force. Premier Agents are knowledgeable and professional and will advise customers following the company’s highest standards.

Building a Premier Agency is a long term strategy not only in Vietnam but in all markets where AIA Group is operating. To implement the Premier Agency model, AIA Group is providing concrete expertise to build a world class, professional, well-paid and fully dedicated agency force.

According to Anantharaman Sridharan, chief distribution officer of AIA Vietnam, for professional agents, especially Premier Agents, AIA Vietnam provides an excellent opportunity in terms of compensation, career and support.

“We have one of the best compensation scheme and training programmes to help our agents in their career development,” he said.

AIA Vietnam’s professional agents can go on to become Premier Agents and enjoy all the special benefits and privileges of being Premier agents.  Alternatively, they can become leaders or managers having a team of agents under them; or they can choose an entrepreneurial career path where they can set up their own general agency offices.

As at the end of August 2011, AIA Vietnam has more than 700 Premier Agents.

In conjunction with the Premier Agency programme, AIA Vietnam is also focusing on building a Full Time agency sales force. These agents are dedicating 100 per cent of their time to the insurance career and therefore are more engaged to the company.

Huynh Thanh Phong, regional managing director and chairman of board of directors, AIA Vietnam, said: “Training agents is an important and challenging activity to any company in any market. The reason why AIA focuses on training and developing a Premier Agency sales force is to be able to understand our customers’ needs and priorities in order to advise with the appropriate solutions using our diversified product portfolio so that our customers and their families have the best financial protection.”

AIA Vietnam officially started operations in Vietnam in February, 2000. Over the last 11 years, AIA Vietnam has been focusing on laying a strong foundation for its sustainable growth through the training and development of its human resources with more than 400 staff and 14,000 agents.

AIA Vietnam serves the holders of about 270,000 policies across the country. Until the end of June 2010, AIA has paid out a total of more than VND714 billion ($35.7 million) for insurance benefits with nearly 110,000 cases.
