The new services were part of the Ho Chi Minh City-based bank’s online products that included Internet services, SMS services and phone services, ACB vice chairman Le Vu Ky said.

“The mobile services are designed to enable customers to make transactions with ACB without going to any ACB counter. We seek to ensure online security with measures widely used in banking.

But the customers also have an important role to play by taking caution. For example, the password should be changed frequently and the user must exit ACB Online-Mobile Services after use or when being busy.”

ACB does not charge joining fees or annual fees for new services, which do not allow customers to make overseas money transfers.

Ky said ACB statistics showed that in terms of individual customers, the number of non-cash transactions at the counter over the past two years was half that of non-cash online transactions at the bank.

“This shows our individual customers have recognised convenience our online banking services offer in non-cash transactions as an online deal takes just a few minutes and the customers do not need to wait at the counter.”
