Winners announced for the 2014-2015 M&A awards

The 2014-2015 M&A Awards Ceremony rewarded the leading deal teams and firms whose activities set the standard for M&A transactions in Vietnam. The nominations, representing over 100 prize-winning finalists, were judged by an independent jury of industrial experts.

The awards and evaluation are expected to stimulate M&A activity among enterprises as well as encouraging consulting companies to provide active support for M&A transactions and SOE equitisation.

Dr. Vu Anh Dung, UEB vice rector and jury chairman said that the soaring number of M&A deals in the past reflects the movements of the market in general, especially as the lion’s share of M&A activities were swirling through retail, banking and the real estate industry. This trend shows that firms were looking at M&A as a viable investment channel and an effective solution to business restructuring and boosting efficiency.

This year, the jury has also voted for the best state-owned enterprises equitisation deal, in order to promote its progress and performance in the near future.
