VIR grants $7,000 in scholarships to needy students

Vietnam Investment Review (VIR) in collaboration with Dragon Capital on December 5 granted 30 scholarships worth VND150 million ($7,050) to needy students with outstanding academic performance from the University of Economics of Ho Chi Minh City (UEH).

The ceremony saw the participation of Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, VIR’s editor-in-chief, Nguyen Van Hong, VIR's deputy editor-in-chief, Pham Nguyen Vinh, Business Development director at Dragon Capital, Nguyen Van Duong, deputy manager of the Student Mission-Training Management at UEH and Lam Thi Vy Tha, deputy director of Corporate Communications and Student Support at UEH.

At the event, VIR and Dragon Capital representatives also had talks and shared experience with the university students about how to manage and balance time spent on life activities and studies in an effective manner.

Dragon Capital has cooperated with VIR for many years in philanthropic activities. On Dragon Capital’s 20th birthday in 2014, it donated VND1 billion ($47,000) to VIR’s scholarship foundation.
