Over 100 brands are showcased at VIMS 2017 |
The event is living up to its reputation as an impressive motor show for automobile importers including Audi, DFM, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, SsangYong, Subaru, Volkswagen, Volvo, and many more.
Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFM), one of China’s largest automobile groups, has showcased 11 models at VIMS for the first time, with models like Joyear S50, Joyear X5, DongFeng Light Truck Captain N, and DongFeng Station Wagon Lotus.
According to Dongfeng Group, Vietnam is a key export market for Chinese-manufactured cars due to the country’s strategic location and huge potential demand. After years of securing their presence in Vietnam, DongFeng cars started to receive good response from local consumers for their stability and reliability, good design, and competitive prices.
The company has also established an extensive network in Vietnam to provide customer care within 24 hours and guarantee maintenance services within 48 hours. DongFeng’s participation in VIMS is aimed at increasing brand awareness among local consumers and ultimately achieve deeper penetration in the Vietnamese market.
Meanwhile, UK car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has introduced five high-performance cars and six all-terrain cars. At VIMS, the company has officially launched Range Rover Velar, one of the most refined and capable medium-sized SUVs with advanced driving capabilities and stunning design.
With the slogan “The icon is back,” Volkswagen has displayed six products in different segments from C-sedans to sport cars. Some Volkswagen models showcased at VIMS 2017 include Jetta, MPV Sharan, Scirocco GTS, SUV Touareg, Passat BlueMotion, and Beetle Dune.
Audi Vietnam general director Laurent Genet, representative of the VIMS 2017 organising committee, said that VIMS 2017 has attracted famous luxury car brands, superbikes, and even yachts, making the show more diverse for car lovers to explore trends and gain new experience.
In addition, 2017 is a challenging year for the automobile industry, so the motor show is aimed at connecting car importers and customers to drive the imported car segment forward.
VIMS is open to the public from now until October 29 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre at 799 Nguyen Van Linh Street, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. The five-day event was organised by Vehicles Importers Vietnam Association (VIVA), in collaboration with CIS Vietnam and Le Bros.
