SetiaBecamex JSC, the investor of the EcoLakes My Phuoc in southern Binh Duong province on December 18 declared that it had delivered 251 units of row house located in Garden of Splendor, phase 1 of the 226 hectare eco-sanctuary, ahead the schedule.

According to the investor, all houses delivered have been externally finished with elegant facade as well as beautiful and complete landscape and streetscape. All the essential utilities have been completed so homeowners can move in immediately after internal renovations have been completed.

Nguyen Hoang Son, president of Binh Duong People’s Committee, said that since its launch in 2009, EcoLakes had consistently broken new ground, from its visionary eco- sanctuary concept and Live – Learn – Work - Play development philosophy to building Vietnam’s first show village.

“EcoLakes has become one of the outstanding developments, which has reshaped the landscape as well as social and economic conditions of Binh Duong,” Son said.

Meanwhile Khoo Teck Chong, general director of SetiaBecamex said: “We are putting a great deal of efforts to transform lifestyles in tandem with the changing economic landscape.

“We strongly believe that we had entered the market at the right time, when the citizens of Binh Duong were beginning to enjoy the fruits of the unprecedented economic boom, and were looking for quality homes. EcoLakes My Phuoc is an ideal eco sanctuary as we offer not just houses but a well-conceived and designed environment that make the perfect foundation for meaningful lifestyles,” Chong said.

There are, at present, over 7,000 foreigners working in Binh Duong and they are mostly living in Phu My Hung township in Ho Chi Minh City due to the lack of quality townships and utilities, which can meet their demands, in Binh Duong.

The expatriate population is set to grow as the development progresses and FDI in Binh Duong increases, creating rising demands for housing.

Public facilities are coming on stream very quickly. In the province’s Thu Dau Mot town, the Coop Mart supermarket opened in September, while the Metro supermarket opened in November.

Along the National Highway 13, Hanh Phuc International Women and Children Hospital also opened in November, while Mien Dong (Eastern) International Hospital will be operational in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Apart from that, the first school year of the 26-hectare Eastern International University, began recently with an enrolment of approximately 500 students.

Meanwhile construction on the Vietnam Germany University, which is financed by the World Bank and German government, will begin in 2011.

Phase 2 of EcoLakes was introduced in Hanoi at the end of October, where it was extremely well received by homebuyers and investors there. Three types of house – row house, semi-D and villas – with floor areas starting from 100 square metres, are on offer in phase 2, with prices starting from VND1.26 billion ($63,000) per unit.
