Parkson Vietnam, in cooperation with departments of education and training in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Haiphong, will continue with the “Parkson Educare” programme this year.

This programme awards scholarships to pupils from primary schools with excellent academic performance in the three cities. The ceremony to award scholarships was held in Haiphong on May 24, in Hanoi on May 26, and in Ho Chi Minh City on June 1.

2011 marks the fourth year that Parkson has been contributing scholarships under the Parkson Educare programme. This year sees a significantly larger number of scholarships being awarded.

Parkson awarded 4000 scholarships worth VND2.2 billion to students across the cities of Hanoi, Haiphong and Ho Chi Minh City.  On top of that, it also contributed 100 sets of school books and 350 books for children to the libraries of 6 primary schools in the city.

The “Parkson Educare” programme was launched in Vietnam to support deserving but less privileged students with the objective of encouraging them to pursue their dreams despite the difficulties in life.

Tham Tuck Choy, general manger of Parkson Vietnam said: “Every one of our Parkson members and frequent customers are honored to contribute to the development of Vietnamese education development and children. “Parkson Educare” programme shows that Parkson is not only bringing a quality of life to our high-end consumers but also shares and support the less privileged individuals in society.”

First established in Vietnam in 2005, Parkson has been developing rapidly with the successful establishment of seven premium department stores in big cities like Hanoi, Haiphong and Ho Chi Minh City.
