Norwegian expert awarded medal for contribution to Vietnam’s registration reform

Today in Hanoi, Gunnar Alexander Karoliussen Koren – Norwegian chief technical advisor of the technical assistance project for Vietnam’s Business Registration Reform was awarded the medal “For the Cause of the Planning and Investment Branch”.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Dang Huy Dong handed over the medal to Koren, which highlights his contribution to the business registration reform of Vietnam.

Attended in the awarding ceremony were representatives of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Swiss State Secretarial for Economic Affairs (SECO), leaders of the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s (MPI) Foreign Economic Relations Department, Emulation and Reward Department, the Agency for Business Registration, and colleagues of Koren.

During the five year implementation of technical assistance project during 2008-2013, Koren accompanied with Vietnamese colleagues devoting time and effort to direct and coordinate the project activities leading to the today success of the project. Koren has greatly contributed promoting and enhancing cooperation relationship, experience sharing between Vietnamese and Norwegian business registries.

He has been active in establishing, enforcing the friendly relationship between the MPI and international community for the recognition and awareness of international donors over business registration reform effort of the Vietnamese government.

Beyond fulfilling his professional assignment, he has always given to Vietnam his most sincerity and tried his best for the benefit and development of Vietnam.

Being the chief technical advisor of the project, Koren has shown the characteristics of self-responsible and enthusiastic advisor which affect and encourage his colleagues in the project and to develop professional skills and be devoted to their working.

Addressing the ceremony, Koren expressed his honour and humbleness to the appreciation and acknowledgement from MPI leaders.
