FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation company and a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. has launched a new flight to and from Hanoi four times a week, Tuesday to Friday.

This new dedicated flight will improve the transit time for outbound shipments from Hanoi by one business day.

This is part of the company’s commitment to launch service enhancements that enable FedEx to be more responsive to the needs of its customers in Vietnam.

“FedEx has been committed to Vietnam for many years and is positive about the economic

development of this market.  This new service enhancement will provide greater access for customers doing business in and with Vietnam.”

“Through our reliable, accurate and time-definite express transporation services, FedEx hopes to help increase Vietnam’s competitiveness throughout the region and around the world,” said Nguyen Duy Binh, senior manager, FedEx Vietnam and Indochina.

Operating in Vietnam since diplomatic relations with the US were re-established in 1994, FedEx has been investing significantly in its operations in Vietnam since that time.

FedEx is the first international express transportation company to have it own flights into and out of Vietnam.  In 2008, FedEx launched a new Airbus 310 flight service linking Vietnam and global markets, which increased the company’s  transportation capacity into and out of Vietnam five-fold, to more than 30,000kg a day.

With around 10 flights per week, FedEx serves Vietnam’s major trading partners – the US, the EU, Japan, China and other developed markets in Asia.
