The Danish government launched a new visa application centre in Ho Chi Minh City on September 5, to help streamline the process for applicants.

Located on the fourth floor of the Resco Tower in District 1, the centre is operated by London-based VFS Global, a worldwide outsourcing and technology services company for diplomatic missions and governments. VFS Global also operates application centres of the UK, Italy, and Spain out of the same building.

The new facility handles all applications for short-term visas for Denmark, Iceland, and Lithuania, as well visas for Greenland and the Faroe Islands. It also coordinates work and residence permits for Denmark.

Danish ambassador John Nielsen said: “The new visa centre improves our consular services, and coordinates a smooth, effective visa process. This is important to increasing exchange – commercially, culturally, and politically – between Vietnam and Denmark.”

The centre is open normal office hours on weekdays, closing at 3pm and an appointment is not required. It also provides traditional services such as online tracking of your application and courier delivery.

The embassy also announced that another application centre would open in Hanoi on November 1.
