CVS’s landmark Cambodian move

The first Vietnam-invested securities firm has opened in Cambodia.

Cambodia-Vietnam Securities (CVS) has officially launched in Phnom Penh on April 24 with chartered capital of $10 million to provide securities services such as consulting, brokerage, corporate finance consulting, underwriting and investment banking services.

The launch is to take advantage of the opening of Cambodia’s stock exchange scheduled for the middle of this year. The company also set up a dedicated team for  and consulting with investors in Cambodia’s securities market.

CVS has five founders comprising Bank of Investment and Development of Cambodia in which Vietnam’s BIDV is a founder; Cambodia Investment and Development Company; BIDV, Cambodia-Vietnam Insurance and BIDV Securities Company.

“We target to create added values for enterprises and investors in Cambodia by actively searching investment opportunities,” said CVS chairman Do Huy Hoai.
