This hatchback is designed for young consumers with VND658 million ($31,787) each. In the context of climbing petrol prices, Yaris’ fuel saving function with only 4.3 litres consumed per 100 kilometres is considerable.
Akito Tachibana, president of Toyota Motor Vietnam, said: “We hope that Yaris will become not only your favour but also your close friend as well as journey companion in daily life.”
Yaris is expected to become Toyota’s premium hatchback featuring audio system with digital sound processor, four-speed automatic transmission with uphill and down-hill shift control, anti-theft system, and wireless door lock.
First introduced in 1999 as Toyota’s global strategic vehicle and then awarded the “European Car of the Year” in 2000, Yaris obtained an impressive number of over five million units being sold in over 70 countries as of 2010.
Toyota Motor Vietnam has so far held serial introduction events at all of its dealers' showroom to introduce Yaris to Vietnamese customers.
