Viber rolls out large-scale interactive chat for businesses

Viber is offering personalised, large-scale chat channels for small and medium-sized enterprises, aimed at improving communication among businesses.

Viber Channel – a large-scale thematic interactive chat channel with unlimited members – has been offered to businesses across Vietnam since September 21.

This messaging channel prioritises the role of business and brand administrators in managing their own channels with privileges for manual posting and custom scheduling and allows participants to interact and comment on posts.

Administrators and super admins can control spam messages easily. The comment feature increases the interaction between channel admins and their members. The analyses of channel insights provide a better understanding of channel quality and members’ behaviour.

Viber Channel can be searched and discovered easily to unlock the unlimited potential of brand awareness and customer reach. In each channel, users’ phone numbers are hidden from others in order to add security. Users can also disable receiving private messages from other members. Moreover, members can create an alias.

In addition to a number of tailored solutions such as branded stickers and lenses, Viber Ads, business messages, and chatbots, Viber Channel is expected to be an effective tool to connect brands and consumers.

There are about 500 business accounts registered, and this number continues to grow. Viber also recorded an 18 per cent increase in the number of brands opening new business accounts and a 21 per cent increase in delivered business messages.

In the first half of 2022, the volume of monthly Viber ad impressions reached more than 210 million, where IT and telecom, finance, entertainment, fashion and cosmetics retail, hospitality, and travel became the top-performing verticals.

In Vietnam alone, as of the first half of 2022, there are about 500 business accounts registered, and this number continues to grow. Viber also recorded an 18 per cent increase in the number of brands opening new business accounts and a 21 per cent increase in delivered business messages. Globally, Viber provides services to more than 8,500 brands.

“With the goal of adapting to the ever-evolving requirements of its user base and providing them with the means to discover what else apps can do with the help of strong local partnerships, Viber has significantly increased its expansion in Vietnam. Beyond simple phone conversations and text messages, Viber has become an indispensable part of their daily routine,” said David Tse, Rakuten Viber's senior director for Asia-Pacific.

Viber is offering various promotional programmes and direct training for small and medium-sized enterprises. Until the end of November 30, it will choose the top three firms with the most subscribers and activity on their Viber channels for monetary rewards and sponsored media coverage.
