Toyota Motor Vietnam introduces Toyota Concert 2017

With the main theme “The Romantic Love Songs”, the concert nights this year will continue to be under the baton of the Japanese experienced conductor Honna Tetsuji – the conductor that has supported and accompanied with Toyota Concert from the first days, as well as the first-time partipation of young talented pianist Nguyen Viet Trung and two famous Vietnamese singers Dang Duong and Dao To Loan.

This is the 20th year that TMV has co-operated with VNSO to organise this event, in order to bring classical music nearer to music lovers, by that, contribute to bring a better life for Vietnamese.

This year, beside three concert nights in Ho Chi Minh Theatre on August 16 and Hanoi Opera House on August 25 and 26, for the first time, the programme will organise a concert night in Vinh Phuc Theatre in August 19.

"Toyota Concert 2017 will continue the journey that we – as artists and TMV have built and gon through a journey that is glory but also full of challenges,” Nguyen Tri Dung, director of VNSO said.

Toyota Concert has been annually organised since 1998, and became an integral cultural part of Vietnamese classical music lovers. Through nearly 60 emotional concert nights with the warm welcome from over 36,000 audiences nationwide, the programme has been creating chances for local young talents to attend the performance with VNSO, such as violinists Do Phuong Nhi and Bui Cong Duy, singers Tung Duong and Trinh Thanh Binh.

"Beside the purpose to contribute to popularise the classical music to Vietnamese music lovers, by that, enrich the spiritual life of Vietnamese, Toyota Concert also contribute to human resource development when all the ticket proceeds of Toyota Concert 2017 are continued to be applied for 'Toyota Musical Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talents' programme," Do Thu Hoang, vice president of TMV said. “Up to 2016, we granted total 730 scholarships for excellent pupils and students of five music schools and academies nationwide, partly contribute to encourage the study spirit and raise their skills for them to become professional artists in the future, by that, contribute to the development of academic music in Vietnam”.

From its establishment, with the continuous efforts to become “good citizen in the local community”, TMV has been organising a lot of meaningful social contribution activities, focusing on traffic safety, education and training, environmental protection and culture.
