The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion presented more than 70 award-winning products, representing Taiwan’s high quality and innovative products in areas such as ICT, home-living, health and fitness, and transportation. Notably, there were 25 more brands represented at this year’s fair.

The brands showcased this year include Justime, Backup UPS systems of Cyber Power, and Sakura chimney range hood M-3000 in the home-living category; Bionime and Johnson Treadmill in the fitness and healthcare category; the SUV model Luxgen U6 Turbo, and the folding bike, Strida, in transportation category; and finally HTC One, Thermaltake Mouse and car video recorder Transcend in the technology category. As well as products for household consumers, Taiwan Excellence introduced innovative technologies for business users, with products such as SmartOffice PS286 Plus Scanner from Plustek and the D-Link wifi router.

The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion at the Vietnam Expo 2015 is the last in the series of activities by Taiwan Excellence throughout the year in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to bring Taiwanese brands closer to Vietnamese consumers. Previous endeavors included the first Taiwan Excellence product sale and introduction event in Ho Chi Minh City in September, and the selection of retail website Lazada as the official online seller of Taiwan Excellence from September onwards. These activities show Taiwan Excellence’s commitment to the Vietnamese market.

Over the past 20 years, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Taiwan grew 27 fold. Currently, Taiwan is Vietnam’s 4th largest investment partner and 5th largest trade partner.

“Vietnam is a market full of potential for Taiwanese business corporations pursuing long-term investments and developments. For that reason, Taiwan brands always value opportunities such as the Vietnam Expo to shorten the distance between made-in-Taiwan products and Vietnamese consumers, whilst also receiving feedback regarding their products and exploring opportunities for future collaborations,” said Liang Kuang-Chung, director general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office.

The symbol of Taiwan Excellence was established in 1992 by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Taiwan Excellence Selection was officially launched the following year. The selection of products worthy of this symbol is based on a distinct criteria of high quality research and development, design, and marketing. Taiwan Excellence-awarded products, which display cutting-edge innovation and meet the highest standard of quality, will represent Taiwan on the international stage to reinforce the buyer’s confidence and continue building a favourable reputation for Taiwanese products. This year marks the 23rd selection with 489 winners from 215 companies.

The Vietnam Expo is recognised as the biggest and the most effective series of commercial and trading activities under the sponsorship of Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade. For the last 13 years, the Vietnam Expo has acted as the global trade connection between Vietnam and other international business organisations across the world, especially in Asia. In 2015, the Vietnam Expo in Ho Chi Minh had five main display areas dedicated to products from Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea, China, and Vietnam, as well as welcoming 320 companies from 20 countries and territories around the world. Taiwanese products have proved hugely attractive to trade fair attendees over the last 13 years that they have been showcased at the annual show.
