Once operational, F-Ville is expected to provide a creative space for 10,000 computer programmers once operational and to rake in $200 million by 2016.
The F-Ville project was divided into three phases. The first is capitalised at $48.6 million and is expected to create 1,900 jobs.
“Boasting 1,700 programmers, F-Vill is expected to raise global high-tech groups’ confidence in Vietnam,” said FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh.
FPT Software is a subsidiary of the FPT Group and the village is the largest of seven software projects licensed at the Hoa Lac High-Tech Zone.
The village is a priority of Vietnam’s scientific-technological development strategy for 2011-2020.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan said he valued the FPT group’s initiative in launching the project and that he hoped it would be a breakthrough for the group’s business and a boon to the country’s scientific-technological development.
