Slap on hand for education institutes

Education institutes are to be punished for illegally opening training classes.

The Ministry of Education and Training recently signed administrative punishment decisions for eight Vietnam-based education establishments for opening illegally training classes.
 
 These establishments opened foreign-united training programmes without licences.  
 
Phuong Dong University was fined VND22.5 million ($1,071), SaiGon University VND7.5 million ($357), Education Research Vietnam (ERC) VND10 million ($476), Melior Vietnam VND10 million ($476), SARA Hanoi Joint Stock Company VND22.5 million ($1,071), Sibme International Education Company VND10 million, ($476), Institute of Finance and Administration (IFA) Company VND10 million ($476) and Oriental Research Development Institute VND10 million ($476).
 
The ministry said the eight education establishments would have to pay fine within 10 days.
 
In which, four education establishments have several repeated offences including Melior Vietnam, ERC Vietnam Company, IFA Company and Sibme Company. At present, the ministry sent document to Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to consider withdrawing their licences of offering expert advice, enrolling students and training with overseas factor.
