“The donation is a new milestone in our long-standing partnership with Cho Ray Hospital,” said Dr. Bernd Montag, CEO for imaging and therapy at Siemens Healthcare.
He said the hospital provided healthcare to about 1.3 million out-patients and in-patients per year. “We believe that the choice of Cho Ray enables us to maximise the impact of our donation and have the expected positive impact on the Vietnamese community.”
The system, worth some 300,000 euros, was one of Siemens’ latest products, said Fabrice Leguet, senior vice president and head of healthcare with Siemens Vietnam.
The equipment includes state-of-the-art hardware and software components plus professional services, is used for the imaging diagnostic workflows within the hospital, a leading one in Vietnam.
Cho Ray Hospital director Dr. Nguyen Truong Son said his hospital provided treatments to more than one million patients a year, and the large-scaled imaging and communication system was bringing benefits to a great number of patients.
The hospital, with 66 clinical departments, provides healthcare services to provinces and cities in central, central upland and southern Vietnam.
Siemens has been present in Vietnam for 20 years and doubled the size of its healthcare sector in 2012, with the set up of a laboratory diagnostics team. Dr. Montag said Siemens would continue to play a key role in supporting the Vietnamese healthcare sector to efficiently detect diseases earlier, provide more accurate diagnoses, and more targeted therapies.
