More than 210 shares were traded on the southern exchange, worth VNĐ3.9 trillion (US$168.2 million).
The large-cap VN30-Index rose 1.69 per cent to 807.04 points.
Twenty-eight of the 30 largest stocks by market capitalisation and trading liquidity in the VN30 basket increased while only two ended flat.
Brewer Sabeco (SAB), property firms Vingroup (VIC) and Vincom Retail (VRE), Vietinbank (CTG), dairy producer Vinamilk (VNM), consumer staples business Masan (MSN), and retailers Phu Nhuan Jewellery JSC (PNJ) and Mobile World Investment (MWG) were among the best large-cap performers.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index grew 1.11 per cent to end Monday morning at 124 points.
More than 38 million shares were traded on the two exchanges, worth over VND508 billion.
