SCG awards scholarships to 114 students in 2017

SCG has been facilitating high school and university education since 2007

The SCG Sharing the Dream Scholarship programme started its journey in 2007, giving annual awards to about 400 high school students nationwide. The programme targets students with excellent academic performance from underprivileged families and provides them with financial support as well as personal development training. Since then, almost 4,000 dreams have been empowered by SCG through this programme.

SCG offers support for the Sharing the Dream alumni who passed the university exam at engineering, accounting, marketing, and business administration with VND7 million ($307) each.

“SCG believes in the value of individuals and the power of education in personal development. This is why we have been investing in the SCG Sharing the Dream programme for the past 11 years. Throughout the years, we have seen students going further on their educational path, and many of them have overcome difficulties in life to get to their dreams,” said Somchai Wangwattanapanich, vice president of operations at SCG Chemical.

Moreover, to go further with the mission to provide quality education, SCG has initiated the SCG Connect and Share programme. This is based on an insight that today’s students cannot rely solely on classroom knowledge. A more effective way of learning is to study from their own experiences to enrich their knowledge and enhance their development with hands-on projects.

SCG Connect and Share will be a platform to connect students. It will be beneficial for them to receive consultancy from seniors and to share concerns and education knowledge among friends to make studying at university easier and more effective. This will be done through serious training sessions facilitated by SCG.
