Promoting the investment potential in Quang Binh

Phan Phong Phu, director of Quang Binh Department of Planning and Investment, said that the conference is an important forum to promote the potential, strength, and investment opportunities in the province.

“This is an occasion for investors to study the province’s investment and trading environment, and to look for partners to expand their operations,” Phu said.

On March 4, the Standing Committee of Quang Binh Party Committee approved the plan for the conference. It asked provincial leaders to assign the Department of Planning and Investment to cooperate with other departments and relevant agencies to prepare for the conference.

The committee also asked for the completion of facilities to improve the effectiveness of the investment promotion work.

Ho An Phong, Deputy Chairman of Quang Binh People’s Committee said, “The province will focus on selecting investors with the greatest potential from Ho Chi Minh City and southern region.”

“Vaccinations have been completed in the province, and both local people and businesses are willing to adapt to the new normal, thus this is a suitable time for investment in Quang Binh,” Phong said.

At present, several large-scale projects are underway, such as the 86km coastal road and Nhat Le 2 Bridge. The province is also preparing to build its section of the North-South Expressway. This addition will play a vital role in improving transport infrastructure, saving valuable time for commuters.

The province is calling for investment in 62 projects. The list, which was approved by Quang Binh People’s Committee last week, focuses on agriculture, industry, energy, and trade, along with infrastructure development and tourism.

Among these projects are a $4 billion gas-fired power plant with a capacity of 3,000MW, the third phase of the Le Thuy 3 wind power plant worth $155 million, an $86 million vehicle assembly and production plant with an annual capacity of 50,000 units, the development of the $172 million Bang Industrial Zone, and the construction of the $33 million Hon La Non-Tariff Zone.
