President welcomes Russian oil CEO

President Truong Tan Sang emphasised that Vietnam ’s leaders will always create favorable conditions for oil and gas entrepreneurs in Vietnam and Russia to boost cooperation.

He made the statement while receiving CEO of Russia’s Gazprom Corporation Alexei Miller during his working visit to Vietnam .

Miller briefed President Sang on the cooperation results between Gazprom Corporation and PetroVietnam in recent years, stressing that the oil and gas sector is one of the most fruitful cooperation sectors in bilateral relations.

He said the corporation will continue its effort to effectively implement the cooperation programme.

He also expressed his belief that will its capacity, experience and prestige, his corporation will support the expansion of oil and gas cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, and strengthen their strategic partnership and comprehensive cooperation.

President Sang thanked Gazprom for its support to Vietnam ’s oil and gas industry, saying its had become a symbol of the friendship enjoyed between the two countries.

He expressed his pleasure over the good results in many fields, especially political relations, after more than a decade of implementing bilateral strategic partnerships and cooperations.
