VNDirect Securities (VND), Bao Viet Securities (BVS), Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI), Ho Chi Minh City Securities (HCM) massively hit the ceiling with large matching volumes, after those brokerage firms announcing robust profits for the second quarter this morning.
Leading speculative stock VNDirect Securities (VND) outperformed the northern bourse with 4.6 million shares matched.
In line with this gain, numerous other securities company shares also rallied. Kim Long Securities jumped 5.38 per cent, Saigon-Hanoi Securities (SHS) 6.06 per cent, Asia-Pacific Securities (APS) up 5.26 per cent with millions shares matched each.
The rally expanded to numerous other stocks. Real estate stocks Ocean Group (OGC), Kinh Bac City Development Share Holding Corp. (KBC), Licogi 16 (LCG) also hit the ceiling with 600,000 to 1 million shares matched.
Along with those gainers, speculative small-cap and mid-cap massively turned head to soar today. As many as 199 stocks were up on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), compared with just 36 declining and 72 unchanged.
Meanwhile, Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) had 200 stocks advancing, just 41 decreasing and 154 ending flat.
But financial stocks and key pillar stocks mostly stayed modest. Eximbank (EIB), Vietcombank (VCB), Vietinbank (CTG) and Sacombank (STB) all ended flat, while Military Bank (MBB) was up 2.14 per cent.
Key pillar stocks Vincom Group (VIC), PetroVietnam Gas (GAS) and Vinamilk (VNM) were unchanged.
The quiet performance of those stocks reined in the gain of the market. HoSE’s VN-Index added 3.57 points or 0.86 per cent to 417.55 points.
Meanwhile, HNX’s HNX-Index jumped 1.62 points or 2.32 per cent to 71.4 points.
But liquidity did not see a remarkable improvement. Matching values were VND507.5 billion ($24.5 million) and VND312.6 billion ($15.1 million), respectively on HoSE and HNX.
Total volume reached 48.1 million shares worth VND782.7 billion ($37.8 million) on the southern bourse. The figure was of 40.5 million shares worth VND369.9 billion ($17.9 million) on HNX.
