The objective of MOU is to cooperate in research and examination of IT solutions which focus on enhancing the efficiency of key issues in deploying IT applications at the MoF, including developing an internal information portal of the financial sector with multi-dimensional statistical data integration to serve the operational guidance task, providing online public services, virtualisation planning, optimising IT infrastructure with cloud computing as well as using Microsoft’s technology platform in every service field of the MoF. Furthermore, Microsoft will continue to update information and new trends of global IT for the ministry, as well as continue the cooperation in developing IT human resources in the financial sector.

“At the MoF, Microsoft's technology platform is used widely on the user side and partly on the server system. We highly appreciate Microsoft's supports in advising and constantly updating changes from the technology world for the MoF. Through the MOU, the ministry will continue to work closely and effectively with Microsoft in the solutions of BI and virtualise cloud solutions to improve the ability of IT applications in financial sector, thus people and companies could gain benefits from modernised public services,” said Dang Duc Mai, general director of the Department of Financial Informatics and Statistics at the signing ceremony.

The first memorandum of understanding signed in 2006 has recorded the enduring and trustworthy cooperation between Microsoft and the MoF on building the e-government of the financial sector through technology and solution transfer activities from Microsoft.

“The MOU signed today has taken the mutual relationship between Microsoft and the MoF to a new level and demonstrated Microsoft's long-term commitment in Vietnam, especially in modernising the financial industry,” said Cesar Cernuda, president of Microsoft Asia Pacific.

"One of Microsoft's commitments when entering Vietnam market is to support government, organisations, companies and people to maximise benefits from technology and close the digital gaps between Vietnam and other countries. The MOU signed with the MoF today continues to be an evidence of Microsoft's strong commitment on accelerating Vietnam to integrate and catch up with other countries in the region in term of competence and ICT applying across sectors, particularly in financial sector," said Vu Minh Tri, general manager of Microsoft Vietnam.
