Microsoft and VCCI co-host training sessions for SMEs

In order to improve for IT application in management, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Microsoft Vietnam today co-hosted the “Improving and Enhancing on Leadership and Finance skills for Managers Conference” in Hanoi and Danang.

The conference included a series of showcase and discussion on IT solutions, most notably on corporate management and new applications for efficiency improvement and working flexibility for leaders, managers and staffs. It emphasised on transformation of IT into a bio-component of an integrated flexible, secured and efficient operating system. There were more than 300 participants who are organisations and corporates’ senior managers in Hanoi and Danang, IT experts, partners and solutions suppliers.

During the conference, Microsoft and VCCI introduced the optimal solutions and highlights for collarboration with corporates, especially local leaders and partners of management and consultancy. Accordingly, the best IT solutions for corporates to take advantage of current systems and reducing investment cost while maintaining its security for IT system implementation and operation are presented.

“Microsoft would like to introduce new beneficial IT solutions for companies and organisations, especially the OS and the best efficiency- collarboration tools so that the IT investment cost and resource will be reduced,” said Pham Tran Anh, Microsoft Vietnam’s SMSP director

“As the representative organisations of Vietnam business community, we highly appreciated the importance of IT applications in improvement and enhancement of management and finance skills for corporate and organisations,” said Pham Thi Thu Hang, VCCI general secretary. “To be world leading IT company, Microsoft has done a great job to share with corporates and organisations the ways IT applications would be able to leverage the corporates’ competitiveness. Taking advantage of IT as the basic tools for efficiency improvement and commercial discoveries and release the corporate’s potential accordingly is the key factor in this more than ever competitive economy.”

Throughout the discussion sessions, Microsoft recommends enterprises and end-users in Vietnam who are still deploying Windows XP and Microsoft 2003, the end of supports for those two systems, especially the ending date of supporting for Windows XP on April 8, 2014. Despite the fact that only less than half year remaining from due date, there are still 4.8 million PCs operating Windows XP in Vietnam. Although Windows XP was always considered as the stable and secure OS but as 11 years old OS, Windows XP’s vulnerability to complicated cyber attacks was undeniable not to mention to its lack of meeting the increasing demand of efficiency and privacy.

According to “SIRv15 Report” – an analysis report generating from database of more than one billion PCs worldwide from January to June 2013 and evaluation from IT experts on the Cyber security trends – 17 per cent PCs infected with malware during the first half of 2013. The same malware infection but Windows XP PCs exposed risk six times higher than Windows 8 PCs.

The new Microsoft Office, Office 365 is another highlight in the conference. Trusted by 40 million worldwide business clients, Office 365 is the cloud version of the most trusted email, integrated with collaboration products and unified features such as SkyDrivePro, Sharepoint, Exchange, Lync and Yammer which brings the productivity experience for users.

Upgrading from Office 2003 to Office 365 is easy and quick thanks to its cloud-based platform. Enterprises will be able to increase or decrease the number of users quickly in accordance with their business model, number of staffs as well as IT cost optimisation and control. Office 365 is considered as a perfect cloud solution, providing the best performance by simplifying the way of communication with expertise sharing and deep understanding of business as well as an excellent information browser.
