The world’s leading online marketplace for automated supplier and sourcing made-to-order components has inaugurated its agent office in Vietnam.

James Jin, president of MFG.com Asia Pacific, told the Promoting Export for Vietnamese Enterprises through e-Commerce” seminar hosted by MFG.com and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in Ho Chi Minh City that  “Connecting suppliers in Vietnam to the MFG.com global marketplace is a strategic step for MFG.com and a vote of confidence for Vietnam. The MFG.com team will work hard to bring leads and new business to Vietnamese suppliers.”

Jin added that it was the right time for America-headquartered MFG.com to enter Vietnam because the  company had seen more foreign companies seeking Vietnamese suppliers through the online platform MFG.com.

Buyers across the industry spectrum utilise MFG.com to locate and get online quotes from highly skilled contract manufacturers providing more than 200 manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, metal stamping, forging, plastic molding and metal fabrication.

MFG.com  owns LiveSource.com which is connected to the MFG.com marketplace.  LiveSource is a cloud based enterprise class sourcing system used by some of the largest companies in the world such as Dassault Aviation, Thales, Axens, Kimberly Clark, MTU and Cartier.

Together with South Korea and India, MFG.com  has four offices in Asia-Pacific, with the regional headquarters in Shanghai, China.

Mitch Free, founder and CEO of MFG.com, said global manufacturers faced serious supplier chain disruptions over the last few years.  Product companies and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) were eager diversify their sustainable supply chain to mitigate risk and develop new sources of supply.

Hence, Vietnam had become a popular location for sourcing professionals from the west.
Vo Tan Thanh, vice general secretary of VCCI and director of VCCI-HCM, expected MFG.com to become an effective bridge enabling Vietnamese businesses access and expand to American and European markets.
