Volumes fell 27.33 per cent to 29.49 million shares on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) and down 31.66 per cent to 19.58 million shares on Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX).

HoSE’s trading value fell below VND700 billion ($35 million), while that of HNX was under VND400 billion ($20 million), totaling just VND1.1 trillion ($55 million) for the two exchanges.
At the close, the benchmark VN-Index rose 0.4 points or 0.08 per cent to 482.31 points, helped by Bao Viet Holding (BVH) advancing 2.92 per cent adding 1.32 points to the index.
Since early this week the insurance stock had contributed 3.92 points to the VN-Index.
Vincom Corp. (VIC) lost 0.5 per cent to VND96,000, after the company announced that its three major shareholders Thien An Investment Trading & Development JSC, Ngoc Viet Real Estate JSC and Hoang Gia Real Estate Investment and Development JSC had sold 18.04 million of their shares.
Banking stocks saw slight gains, with Eximbank (EIB) advanced 1.33 per cent, Vietinbank (CTG) added 0.9 per cent, Vietcombank (VCB) advanced 0.7 per cent and Sacombank (STB) was 0.6 per cent higher.
Sacombank (SBS), however, hit the floor for the fourth straight session.
Some confection and cooking oil stocks rose as well, among them big names Kinh Do (KDC), Bibica (BBC) and Tuong An (TAC).
Eximbank (EIB) was the most active on the southern bourse today with nearly 2.7 million shares traded.
The HNX-Index closed at 111.44 points, up 0.28 points or 0.25 per cent on the northern bourse, where Kim Long Securities (KLS) outperformed with more than 1.85 million units changed hand.
Overall, 125 stocks fell against 69 up and 86 unchanged on HoSE, 166 stocks down against 100 up, 50 ended flat and 53 had no transaction on HNX.
Foreigners today bought more than three million shares of 76 codes on HoSE, focusing on DPM, SBT, HAG, KDC and SSI.
They bought 388,500 stocks and 172,400 units on HNX, of which PVX, PVS, VND, KLS and PVC led the most buying codes and DBC, BCC, VND, ICG and TDN led the sellers.
