Manulife Vietnam has new general director

With the approval of the Ministry of Finance, Manulife Vietnam has announced the appointment of Paul Nguyen as its new general director, effective from May 21, 2014.

Nguyen has over 25 years of international insurance experience working in various territories including Canada, the US, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Prior to his current appointment, he was deputy country president and appointed actuary of an international life insurance company in Vietnam where he provided leadership in a variety of functions including actuarial, product development, strategic development for new distribution channels, information technology, agency administration, business intelligence and legal.

Vietnamese by birth, Nguyen was raised in Toronto, Canada. He graduated from the University of Toronto, majoring in Statistics and Actuarial Science.

He is currently a fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He is multilingual, fluent in English, Vietnamese and Bahasa Indonesia. He is well known not only as a charismatic leader but also as a family-oriented person and an active community supporter.
