Some 180 stocks advanced on the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), including 54 stocks hitting the ceiling. Also, 163 stocks ended higher on the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HoSE), among them 47 hitting the ceiling.
The market trend particularly turned to positive from a fluctuation in the end of the session, driven by the rises of leading speculative stocks.
HNX’s VNDirect Securities (VND) jumped 4.26 per cent with 3.6 million shares matched. Real estate pennies Dai Chau (DCS), IDJ International Financial Investment And Enterprise Development (IDJ), Petro Vietnam Power Land (PVL) Saigon-Hanoi Securities (SHS) hit the ceiling. Saigon-Hanoi Securities (SHS) and Asia Pacific Securities both sharply rose.
Other leading stocks of the northern bourse like PetroVietnam Construction (PVX), Kim Long Securities (KLS) also strongly jumped with large matching volumes.
The matching volume of HNX significantly improved to VND250.9 billion ($12.1 million). Liquidity reached 34.5 million shares worth VND294.7 billion ($14.2 million).
On the HoSE, real estate small-cap and mid-cap stocks like Duc Long Gia Lai Group (DLG), Sao Mai Construction Corp. (ASM), Ninh Van Bay Real Estate (NVT), International Development and Investment (IDI), Petro Capital Infrastructure Investment (PTL) massively hit the ceiling.
Meanwhile, real estate stocks Tan Tao Investment Industry Corp. (ITA) and Vietnam Electricity Construction (VNE) outperformed the market with 2.1 million and 1.4 million units matched, respectively.
A number of mineral stocks were also rallied. Tay Bac Minerals Investment (KTB) gained 1.33 per cent, Nari Hamico Minerals (KSS) 3.53 per cent, Bac Giang Exploitable Mineral (BGM) 3.77 per cent. Those stocks all had some 500,000 units matched each.
However, large-cap stocks stayed quiet. Banking stocks ended flat or just gained some 1 per cent each. Blue-chips like FPT Corp. (FPT) ended flat, Vinamilk (VNM) added just 0.58 per cent, Masan Group (MSN) even shed 1.53 per cent. Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) lost 0.39 per cent on HNX.
Therefore, the two benchmarks saw just slight gains. HoSE’s VN-Index added 1.44 points or 0.35 per cent to 408.72 points. HNX’s HNX-Index climbed 0.73 points or 1.06 per cent to 69.32 points.
Some 58 stocks were off on HoSE and 51 declining on HNX.
