Liquidity sunk against previous session. The total matching value reached VND755.7 billion ($36.5 million), compared with VND1.2 trillion ($58 million) in Friday’s session.
Total volume was 41.7 million shares worth VND560.6 billion ($27.1 million) on the HoSE and 34.5 million shares worth VND304.6 billion ($14.7 million) on the HNX.
The market’s easing back today reversed the rallying sentiment in Friday’s session, when the benchmarks soared and liquidity doubled.
Half the market ended in red. Some 162 stocks ended off on the HoSE, compared with 80 advancing. Meanwhile on the HNX, 154 stocks were down and 72 up.
Several speculative stocks dipped back, among them real estate stocks Tan Tao Investment Industry Corp. (ITA), Vietnam Electricity Construction (VNE), Ninh Van Bay Real Estate (NVT), rubber stock Southern Rubber Industry (CSM) and mineral stock Nari Hamico Minerals (KSS).
A number of key pillar stocks also fell, among them Bao Viet Holdings (BVH) losing 2.55 per cent, Vinamilk (VNM) and Vincom Group (VIC) both falling more than 1 per cent each and Masan Group (MSN) off 0.51 per cent.
HNX-listing real estate stocks also strongly fell. Vietnam Construction and Import-Export (VCG) lost 3.6 per cent, IDJ International Financial Investment And Enterprise Development (IDJ), Saigon Commercial Real Estate (SCR), PetroVietnam-Nghe An Construction (PVA) all lost more than 4 per cent each.
Whereas, financial stocks stayed almost flat. Military Bank (MBB) added 1.45 per cent, Sacombank (STB) 0.45 per cent, Vietinbank (CTG) 2.91 per cent, while Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI) slightly off. Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) also slightly gained on HNX.
A number of speculative pennies also kept rallying, such as International Development and Investment Corp. (IDI) hitting the ceiling, PetroVietnam-Idico Long Son Industrial Park Investment (PXL), Sao Mai Construction Corp. (ASM), Duc Long Gia Lai Group (DLG) strongly jumped with large matching volumes.
