ICT as enabler to transform education

This was an opportunity for teachers and leaders in schools, colleges and universities sharing experiences and learning from each other. The workshop also updated the latest innovations and technology solutions to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

These activities were implemented under the agreement signed between Microsoft and Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) in November 2013.

For 18 years, Microsoft has been focusing on supporting and promoting the development and application of information and communication technology (ICT) in school management, teaching and learning. Supporting Vietnam’ education and training sector to effectively use ICT as enabler to transform education is not only a goal but also a commitment of Microsoft.

“Innovative Teachers” and “Innovative Schools” are important programmes of Microsoft in education. “Innovative Teachers” is a programme that improve capacity for teachers in using ICT in teaching and learning. During 2013-2014, in collaboration with the MoET, Microsoft has successfully held eight IT training workshops for more than 200 teachers at all levels across the country.

Moreover, online training courses in http://www.pil-network.com/ received the participation of thousands of teachers. Joining the network PIL, teachers are encouraged and supported to become an education expert of Microsoft. The outstanding experts are selected to participate in the Annual Global Education Forum organised and sponsored by Microsoft.

“Innovative Schools” is held by Microsoft Education Programme, which provides a chance to join innovative school community, where school leaders gain instructional leadership and access tools to increase teaching and learning practices that enable students to develop 21^st Century skills. Innovative School of Microsoft can take part in annual events of Microsoft, including Global Forum.

Global Forum is an annual international event hosted by Microsoft. This is the time when educational experts and school leaders gather and share their experiences as well as innovative teaching and learning skills needed in 21^st Century. Global Forum also provide a connection between teachers, school leaders from all over the world and celebrate outstanding educators in each country.

Come along with other educational programmé, Microsoft offers Office 365 online free for Vietnam’s education and training system to enhance the use of technology in teaching and learning. Office 365 include: utilities package, working tools, online and offline storage, which provides students and teachers with an all in one solution of Microsoft’s Cloud technology. Office 365 creates a dynamic working environment, a new method to conduct lesson plans.

Besides, Microsoft offers digital access via Shape the Future programme, provide online training resources and certifications for students and teachers and IT staffs.
