The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange’s (HoSE) VN-Index made a brief dip losing 7.12 points to 471.17 at the session’s opening, in which 146 stocks lost (eight hit the floor), 76 were unchanged and 57 up (eight hit the ceiling). The benchmark had then turned around to steadily climbed and closed at 482.67 points, up 4.38 points or 0.92 per cent.
Meanwhile, the HNX exchange saw the second lost trading day with the benchmark HNX-Index shed 1.70 points or 1.46 per cent, closing at 115.00 points.
The majority of blue-chips codes closed higher today, of which the insurance Bao Viet Holding BHV hit ceiling to VND66,500 becoming the most rising one, KBC, MSN, PVF, SBS all advanced from VND1,200 to VND2,000.
Sai Gon Securities Inc. (SSI) continued to outperform the bourse in terms of trading volume with 5.4 million units, accounting for 8.81 per cent the market’s entire volume, changed hand. Sacombank STB and the real estate firm ITACO ITA followed with 4.85 million shares and 4.4 million shares traded respectively. REE, GTT, EIB and QCG all saw more than one million shares traded.
On the Hanoi Exchange, only theplastic maker TifoPlast NTP among 10 largest market-cap stocks ended higher. The remaining nine stocks all fell.
The cement producer Thai Binh TBX increased most, advancing VND2,300 to VND51,4000, while the real estate company ChoLonRes RCL fell deepest to VND48.500, down VND2,900.
In terms of liquidity, Kim Long Securities KLS topped the market with 5.44 million unit changed hand.
The HoSE’s total trading volume up 2.07 per cent to 68,33 million units, worth VND1,7 trillion ($85 million) or 8.78 per cent higher. Among 279 listed stocks on the bourse, 134 up with 21 hit ceiling, 79 down with six hitting the floor and 66 unchanged.
HNX’s liquidity increased with 53,12 billion shares worth VND961 billion ($48.05 million), up 12.44 per cent and 4.46 per cent respectively. Of 362 listed codes, 71 closed higher with 9 hit ceiling, 240 lost, 21 ended flat and 30 saw no transaction.
Foreign investors strongly cashed in today session, mainly towards the HoSE bourse with up to 243 out of 279 codes had been bought. On the HoSE exchange, the foreigners’ buying volumes reached 12.34 million units, accounting for 20.14 per cent of the entire the market.
On the HNX, foreigners bought 29 codes including PVX, PVI, PHS, ICG, PVC and sold 25 stocks, including PVX and PVI.
