HNX ends week on a downer

The Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) fell back as investors locked in profits.

Securities company stocks, which had led the gainers in previous sessions, massively dropped today. Kim Long Securities (KLS) lost 1.06 per cent, Bao Viet Securities (BVS) 1.3 per cent, Asia Pacific Securities (APS) 5.88 per cent while Au Viet Securities (AVS) off 3.85 per cent.

Some securities company stocks like VNDirect Securities (VND), Saigon-Hanoi Securities (SHS) still gained.

PetroVietnam-family stocks also reversed the trend. PetroVietnam-Nghe An Construction (PVA) slipped 0.88 per cent, PetroVietnam Southern Gas (PGS) 0.92 per cent, PetroVietnam Northern Gas (PVG) 1.59 per cent. Top active stock Habubank (HBB) significantly fell.

The HNX-Index slightly shed 0.13 points or 0.17 per cent, although the benchmark had turned positive during the session. Decliners outran advancers 139 to 100, while 157 stocks were unchanged.

Low price speculative stocks also largely fell on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE). Ninh Van Bay Real Estate (NVT), Sacom Development and Investment Corp (SAM), Ha Tien 1 Cement (HT1), International Development and Investment Corp. (IDI) were off on large offering volumes.
However, major stocks largely kept gaining.

Real estate stocks Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG) and Ocean Group (OGC) hit the ceiling, Investment and Trading of Real Estate (ITC) and Licogi 16 (LCG) hit the ceiling throughout the session. Hoang Quan Consulting-Trading-Service Real Estate Corp. (HQC), Petro Capital Infrastructure Investment (PTL), Tu Liem Urban Development (NTL) also sharply jumped.

Financial stocks just modestly rose. Sacombank (STB), Eximbank (EIB), Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI), PetroVietnam Finance (PVF) just gained 1-2 per cent each. Vietinbank (CTG) and Vietcombank (VCB) even fell.

The benchmark VN-Index slightly gained 2.51 points or 0.56 per cent to close at 447.44 points.
Liquidity significantly improved today, particularly on the main bourse. Total volume reached 91.1 million shares worth VND1.4 trillion ($67.6 million) on the southern bourse. The figure was of 89.2 million shares, worth VND845.9 billion ($40.9 million) on HNX.
