H.J. Heinz Company and Coca-Cola Company recently announced a strategic partnership that enables Heinz to produce its ketchup bottles by using Coke’s breakthrough PlantBottle™ packaging.

Up to 30 per cent of PlantBottles comes from plants, and the bottles are fully recyclable, which is eco friendly.

Switching to PlantBottle™ is therefore another important step in Heinz’s global sustainability initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, solid waste and water consumption.

“The partnership of Coca-Cola and Heinz is a model of collaboration in the food and beverage industry that will make a sustainable difference for the planet,” said Heinz president and CEO William R. Johnson.

“Heinz Ketchup is going to convert to PlantBottle™ globally, beginning with our best-selling 20-ounce variety of Heinz Ketchup, which will reach consumers this summer.”

As a U.S trusted brand for over 140 years, Heinz commits to improve quality of people life and protecting our planet from environment risk. Heinz’s products which include ketchup, condiments sauce and baby food have already been launched in Vietnam. The products are now available at supermarkets and retail shops nationwide.
