RIMOWA, one of Europe’s leading luggage brands, recently published its results for the 2014 financial year, and the group is pleased to report repeated growth.

With total revenue of around 275 million euros ($301 million), the German group achieved an excellent result for 2014, corresponding to an increase in sales of 10 per cent compared to 2013.

Exceptional service and high product quality combined with an excellent sales structure and effective marketing strategies have ensured a growing demand for the luggage with the grooves.

Both additional store openings in Asia, North America and Europe and the steady expansion of the product range bear testimony to the success of the company.

This growth has also led to the creation of new jobs: more than 2,500 employees now work for the RIMOWA group at its head office in Cologne and in its subsidiaries in North America, the Czech Republic, Brazil and Hong Kong.

“We were involved in many successful projects over the last twelve months, such as the photo shoot for our new lookbook and our store opening in New York,” said the company president and CEO Dieter Morszeck.

“There have been many positive developments, and I believe the figures for 2014 confirm that RIMOWA is still growing.

“We are the leading luggage brand in the premium segment, and this vindicates my strategy of quality and innovation,” Morszech added.

Other highlights of 2014 included the relocation of the head office and the expansion of the Cologne production facility. The coveted suitcases are sold in a network of 115 mono-brand stores and through selected dealers.

A very special series was unveiled in 2014 – the world champion suitcase in bright Victory Red with a specially designed logo, which was received with great enthusiasm by football fans.
