FPT Group’s profit rose in the first half
In the first half of 2013, FPT Group, one of Vietnam's leading telecom carriers, reached the revenue and pre-tax profit of VND12.482 trillion ($594 million) and VND 1.277 trillion ($60.8 million), up by 9 per cent and 2 per cent against the same period of last year and equalling to 46 per cent and 48 per cent the plan, respectively.
The after-tax-profit of shareholders in parent company saw a 7 per cent growth year-on-year to VND803 billion ($38.2 million) and average EPS reached VND2,934, up 5 per cent year-on-year and equivalent to 48 per cent of the plan.
Technology and telecommunication are two sectors with the biggest contribution of 76 per cent to the total revenue of the group. Technology sector saw a growth of 23 per cent in terms of revenue and 34 per cent in profit while telecommunication reached a 12 per cent increase in revenue and 8 per cent in profit.
