Can you tell us about the breakthrough innovations Eaton has brought to Vietnam so far?

At Eaton, our long-lasting goal is to improve people's lives and the environment with power management technologies that are more reliable, efficient, safe and sustainable. The Technology Day in Vietnam is part of Eaton's global strategic growth initiative, which brings together Eaton’s partners and end-customers to experience Eaton’s intelligent power management solutions. For this year’s Tech Day, Eaton has brought innovative upgrades to existing products and enhanced efficiency to optimise energy consumption in today's power development and operation industry.

With electrical equipment and electrical cabinets, Eaton has come up with modular designs to meet customer needs and optimise costs. We offer software solutions for efficient energy management.

We believe in an 'Everything as a Grid' approach where every energy source is connected and supported to stabilise the whole network, including the national electrical grid. This is also a modern solution for unlocking the potential of the energy transition to create a low-carbon future for houses, businesses, and communities.

When applying this approach, our customers can monetise previously under-used backup power assets. This ultimate solution uses countless new concepts and technologies for renewable energy and batteries, electric vehicle charging systems, and many more. Everything is interconnected and managed by our intelligent management software system. Through its power management technologies and services, Eaton can help its customers effectively manage electrical and mechanical power more safely and efficiently.

An example is our long-term partnership with Microsoft to develop 'EnergyAware' uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) technology, enabling energy-intensive industries to help stabilise the grid and contribute more to renewable power. In fact, 'EnergyAware' UPS technology could ultimately prove instrumental in reshaping the overall power generation industry as its implications are significant, both for the grid and for data centre operators. Eaton’s technology also allows Microsoft to store excess power generated for its data centres from renewable sources and potentially sell it back to the grid.

Microgrid energy solution is another focus that we want to highlight. The microgrid is connected to the grid and the loads are powered by a power mix. To achieve the goal of managing the entire system smoothly and synchronously, it is necessary to have a smart software solution managing all of those things well.

What are the most crucial industry segments for Eaton's expansion in Vietnam?

Eaton operates across a diverse range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, construction, data centres, energy, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, and utilities. However, Eaton in Vietnam places significant emphasis on data centres, and the electrical and industrial sectors.

We have observed that Vietnam's demand for safe and stable data centres has seen robust growth. Eaton provides modular, or standalone UPS solutions that are highly reliable and easily scalable, keeping business agile and helping to manage the growing data centre demand. Our offered solutions are popular among Vietnam’s big network providers and telecoms companies.

Eaton's energy storage systems are one of our strengths. This is an essential component enabling communities and businesses to access a safe, reliable, and efficient solution to support the electrification of transportation. It means that energy storage enables homeowners, businesses, industrial facilities, and cities, as well as data centres, to store energy whenever it is available and release it when needed.
