Deutsche Post DHL, the world’s leading postal and logistics group, last week marked Global Volunteer Day 2012 in Vietnam with 441 employees, taking part in school clean-ups in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

This is part of the group’s global drive to give back to local communities and to inculcate a passion for volunteerism among employees.

This year’s Global Volunteer Day saw one of the largest contingents of employees taking part in this meaningful event. Divided into two contingents, the DHL teams were tasked to clean up Tan Phu Trung Primary School in Ho Chi Minh City and Yen Binh Primary School in Hanoi, all in the hope of providing a more conducive study environment for the students.

“We are thrilled to see many volunteers take part in this year’s Global Volunteer Day. We are proud that our employees in Vietnam are all so eager to give back to the society through this event,” said Christopher Ong, general director of DHL-VNPT Express.
