DHL’s new Ho Chi Minh City Gateway at Tan Son Nhat International Airport has obtained the
Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) Classification “A” certification. DHL now has three TAPA ‘A’ certified sites in Vietnam including Hanoi Service Center, Dong Nai Service Center and Ho Chi Minh City Gateway.
“We have invested approximately $200,000 on security equipment for our Ho Chi Minh City Gateway, to ensure the safety and security of our customers’ packages while they are in our care,” said Tim Baxter, general director of DHL - VNPT Express Ltd.
“TAPA’s certification provides some of the most stringent guidelines in the industry for security and service, and one that companies in the various express, logistics and shipping industries aspire to."
TAPA “A” is a highly sought-after industry security accreditation, which is awarded to facilities that meet the highest security standards for the handling of high-value, hi-tech goods in supply chains, after the successful completion of a rigorous and detailed assessment conducted by independent auditors.
DHL has invested more than $5 million in its Airside Gateway. In addition to the comprehensive suite of security solutions which include Close circuit television, motion, beam & glass break detectors and an access control system, the facility also has an international standard fire suppression system, fire detection system.
