240 employees in Ho Chi Minh City and a further 120 in Hanoi from DHL Express, Global Forwarding and Supply Chain Vietnam (DHL Vietnam), will form two contingents to take part in school clean-up activities as part of Deutsche Post DHL(DPDHL) global drive to give back to local communities and to inculcate a passion for volunteerism among employees.
“DHL globally is committed to the ongoing development of the communities in which we operate,” said Tim Baxter, General Director of DHL-VNPT Express. “Touching one of the key Corporate Responsibility Pillars – GoHelp, we are excited to see so many enthusiastic DHL volunteers to come forward to to clean up schools in underprivileged areas in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.”
Introduced in Asia Pacific in 2008, Volunteer Day has expanded into Americas, Middle East, Africa and Europe over the years, and continues to build on its success by involving more employees than ever before.
From September 1 to 10 this year, Deutsche Post DHL offices around the world are participating many diverse community projects in support of various local causes. These programs deliver to the company’s three Corporate Responsibility programmes – GoTeach (championing education), GoGreen (protecting the environment) and GoHelp (delivering help after natural disasters).
