Deloitte Vietnam today hosted its 2012 Tax Update Seminar with the participation of 450 representatives from enterprises located in Hanoi and northern provinces.

Previously, Deloitte Vietnam successfully held Annual Tax Seminars for 550 representatives from local and foreign companies in Ho Chi Minh City. Separate specialised tax seminars for Chinese and Japanese companies were also held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Currently, tax policies and customs regulations in Vietnam are restructuring to meet changes in the society and may create certain difficulties for businesses during the implementation.

However, clear understanding and proper implementation of these rules could help enterprises better manage tax and customs strategies along with their business objectives; thus, reducing risks and management cost and thereby improving performance.

In fact, by properly  preparing financial statements and performing tax finalisation, business leaders could address two problems, cost saving and law abiding.

Thomas McClelland , tax leader of Deloitte Vietnam, said: “While economics crisis is still impacting Vietnamese economy and business, understanding clearly tax policies and customs regulations, especially taxing trends of authorities as well as effective tax management methods will play in an important part in helping businesses save operational expenses, bringing higher economic benefits while assuring the compliance with prevailing regulations".

"Although enterprises have regular tax advice and support from Deloitte Vietnam during their operations, these seminars will be the combination of all hot issues that enterprises are interested in,” he added.
