DAS promotes smart TFR technology

The project has applied smart green-intelligence TFR technology which offers a system that allows for continuous aeration with drastically reduced energy demand. The TFR Bioreactor is the core of this technology. It uses a very light, small-grain carrier material covered with a highly active mixed population of bacteria.

Unlike commonly implemented wastewater systems, the carrier material bed is not located within a closed body of water and thus can be easily supplied with sufficient amounts of oxygen. The constant inflow of wastewater that trickles down over the bed is aerated by ambient air that is supplied by a simple ventilator at a minimum pressure that flows in the opposite direction.

One of the main goals of the TFR technology and more specifically the TFR Bioreactor, is to treat wastewater to a point that will allow for the direct discharge into surface waters or for re-use as internal process water.

By meeting all requirements for direct discharge while keeping operating and maintenance efforts at a minimum, the DAS TFR technology offers a modern process for partial or complete treatment of industrial wastewaters.

“The installation and commissionning went smoothly as per plan,” says Bel Vietnam factory manager Francois Pons.

“We are very pleased with the overall performance of the unit. Additionally to the effluent results, the plant generates very little amount of sludge and is odour free. Perfect when you have neighbours all around.”

“Our technology is not only characterised by low energy consumption and low operating costs, but it also guarantees low maintenance,” said DAS Environmental Expert GmbH managing director Dr. Horst Reichardt.

“And should Bel Vietnam expand its production or should the limits become even stricter, we can easily expand or adapt the system as well. Its modular structure allows for easy expansion and upgrades at any time – which is another great advantage of our system technology.”
