25 UK cyclists recently cycled 1,500 kilometres from Lao Cai to Danang in 10 days to raise funds to bring British neonatal nursing expertise to Vietnam.

The cycling finished on May 26 at the Danang Hospital for Women & Children with an official welcome for the cycling heroes from city officials and the British Ambassador, Dr Antony Stokes.

The ride was the challenge of a lifetime and sponsorship from the ride will support UK-led nurse training and life saving equipment. In addition to sponsorship from various high profile multinational companies the intrepid cyclists have already raised $135,000 for an eighteen-month neonatal teaching programme from the UK’s Canterbury Christ Church University.
