Credit contract for National Highway 1A BOT project signed

On August 5th, Corporation 319 under the Ministry of Defence and Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) signed a credit contract for a build-operate-transfer (BOT) project to upgrade the National Highway 1A road surface.

Under the contract, Corporation 319 will be in charge of the VND 2,000 billion project to upgrade 125 km of road surface from Km 1720+800 (Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province) to Km 1851+714 (Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province).

VietinBank will loan the project VND 1,450 billion, with a 14-year maturity and 2-year grace period. Besides, Corporation 319 is expected to operate Song Phan toll booth on January 2015.

The project would help complete the Hanoi-Can Tho route by 2016 under the Decision 355 of the Prime Minister on adjusting strategy for Vietnam’s transport development towards 2020 and the orientation towards 2030.

The project is expected to be completed in December 2014.
