The statement was made at the meeting between Xu Junqi, chairman of Hunan Hualian Ceramic Industry Co Ltd., and Nguyen Quang Hung, Standing Vice Chairman of Thai Binh People's Committee on August 26.
Since its establishment in 1994, the company has developed from a small and micro township enterprise into a leading enterprise in China's household ceramics industry. At present, the company has customers in more than 40 countries and regions worldwide.
As part of its business strategy, the company is looking for opportunities to expand in the international markets. Among them, the company plans to invest in Vietnam as a gateway to bring its products to penetrate the Southeast Asian market.
"After researching the investment climate in Thai Binh, the company found that the province boasts favourable conditions and advantages for developing the ceramic industry. We wish to make an investment to transform Thai Binh into a ceramic valley in the region," Junqi said. "Initially, the project has a total investment capital of about $200 million. Once completed, it will create jobs for 5,000 workers."
In 2023, the construction materials industry in Thai Binh generated a production value of VND5.42 trillion ($218.3 million) and created jobs for 25,652 workers. The industry has attracted many workers, including the highly skilled.
