The competition will be organised by Bacardi Vietnam LMT and Saigon Bartender Association, in coordination with the sponsorship of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association.
Saigon Bartender Sommeliers’ Guild (SBSG Association) president Vo Tan Si is head judge and said it was the first time a legacy cocktail competition (LCC) had been organised on a national scale in Vietnam.
This is a serious competition for the truly creative and talented bar professionals, with the winner’s creation being crowned the Bacardi superior rum legacy cocktail of the year in Vietnam.
In the regional heats, contestants will be required to showcase their mixology finesse as well as present to the judges their cocktail inspiration and explain the delicate balance of flavors that make their cocktails appealing.
Contestants must be over 20 years old, be professional bartenders or managers in big restaurants and bars and have at least two years experience.
The ultimate winner will be rewarded a delicately finished and beautifully crafted luxury art deco cocktail shaker and a diamond ticket to compete in the legacy cocktail competition grand finals in Puerto Rico.
The nation finals will be held in Ho Chi Min City on November 16, 2011. In the national final, "Cocktail Prodigy" Bong Ha Kim from South Korea will be present.
