Accor, the leading international operator of hotels in Asia-Pacific and Vietnam, announced the development of three Mercure hotels in the country - Mercure Sapa, Mercure Phu Quoc Resort and Mercure Vung Tau.

“Accor is proud to sign three new Mercure hotels in Vietnam, strengthening our leading position in the country,” said Patrick Basset, senior vice president for Accor Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and the Philippines.

“With over 6.8 million international visitors last year and a growing number of domestic travellers that are now looking for new destinations within the country, Accor anticipates that these three cities - Sapa, Phu Quoc, and Vung Tau – will soon emerge as top leisure spots in Vietnam alongside more established destinations like Nha Trang, Halong Bay and Hue.”

“The Mercure brand – a renowned, worldwide brand that promises authentic personality and distinctive styles – is the perfect brand choice for these three hotels. These hotels will be committed to comfort and quality, while offering a unique hotel experience shaped by the environment and cultural surroundings,” said Basset.

Mercure Sapa will be a 160-guestroom hotel located amongst Vietnam’s most beautiful mountains in the North, overlooking the Muong Hoa Valley. Scheduled to open in 2015, the hotel will have three food and beverage outlets, a swimming pool and several meeting rooms. Mercure Sapa is located in Lao Cai province’s Sapa town in northwest Vietnam, and is well-known for its ethnic and cultural diversity.

Mercure Phu Quoc Resort is located on Vietnam’s largest and most beautiful island - Phu Quoc. This resort will have its own private beachfront with 160 guestrooms, a restaurant, a bar, a conference room, fitness centre, business centre and a swimming pool. Mercure Phu Quoc Resort will be just 10 minutes away from the new Phu Quoc International Airport and is scheduled to open in 2014.

Mercure Vung Tau will be the first Mercure hotel in Vung Tau peninsula. Located in the city centre, this hotel is only a few minutes’ walk to front beach and local attractions. Once complete in 2014, Mercure Vung Tau will offer 117 guestrooms, two restaurants and a bar, meeting rooms, a swimming pool, fitness centre and spa facilities.
