In collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH), the two sides will provide healthcare services delivered remotely without needing patients physically going to the hospital. The initial trial will run across cardiac arrhythmias patients, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients and arterial hypertension patients.

This is part of Ericsson Vietnam’s progress for providing mobile health services to people living in rural and remote areas in 2011.

Ericsson is to provide initial e–health or mobile health services to people living in rural areas based on 3G network through Ericsson’s mobile home solution and its health care kit.

The solution is part of the Networked Society concept that Ericsson wants to deliver it to Vietnam in transforming Vietnam’s business, people’s lives and society. The Networked Society is believed to happen soon in Vietnam, fuelled by the country’s emphasis on ICT as one of the top priorities in the development agenda, facility development, active operators and the population.

The MoH reported around 40 per cent of poor patients in Vietnam did not have medical treatment as half of them could not afford medical treatment costs.
